We are pleased to share that Caffè Capital has become one of just two Cobham businesses to join the anti-food waste app ‘Too Good to Go’.
The concept is simple – we put £10 RRP of food and drink that would otherwise go to waste in a ‘magic bag’, and someone can buy it for just £3.33, collecting it at the end of the day between 4-5pm.
Each year, one third of all food purchased in the UK goes to waste, and it’s responsible for 8% of all greenhouse gas emissions. Hospitality businesses like ours do all we can to minimise waste – it’s not good for our profit margins or the planet as a whole – but it is an inevitable to some extent.
Services like ‘Too Good To Go’ help us reduce our waste while allowing people to purchase food much more cheaply than they would otherwise. Since they launched in 2016, Too Good To Go have recruited over 30 million people around the world to use their app, and saved 58 million meals from the bin. We’re happy to be just a little part of it.
